All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them. Walt Disney
Would you agree that most of us ladies love to dream about the future and what it should hold? I know I do. I I am an avid believer in the importance of having dreams for the future. However, simply having and believing in your dream is not enough. The main goal of having a dream should be to pursue and achieve it. Of course, the question is, how do we get beyond the dreaming and believing stage?
There are many steps between having, believing and achieving a dream. These steps can take you in any number of directions. There may be many different variations of how to achieve your dreams depending on who you talk to, but here are a few I found useful.
1. Think about it often.
May he give you the desire of your heart and make all your plans succeed. Psalm 20:4 (NIV)
Think big! Work your dreams out in your mind. Think about exactly what you want to accomplish. At this stage you are only limited by your imagination.
2. Talk about it.
Plans fail for lack of counsel, but with many advisers they succeed. Proverbs 15:22 (NIV)
Dreams seem more real, more achievable when we share them with people we trust. Many times, they encourage us to hold onto our dreams and not give up before we achieve them.
3. Plan for it.
Suppose one of you wants to build a tower. Won’t you first sit down and estimate the cost to see if you have enough money to complete it? Luke 14:28 (NIV)
How are you going to accomplish this dream? What do you need to do to achieve it? Plan write it down and refer to it often.
4. Act on it.
In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead. James 2:17 (NIV)
Begin working your plans. Put in the hard work necessary to help you to achieve your dream. Remember, hard work pays off.
5. Pray about it.
Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans. Proverbs 16:3 | NIV
Along with hard work, the most instrumental thing in helping you to achieve your dream is prayer. Pray every step of the way. God wants your dreams to succeed so don’t be afraid to talk to Him.
Matthew 19:26 says “…but with God all things are possible.” Therefore, talk to Him about your dreams and goals for the future. He wants to see you achieve your dreams and He will give you the wisdom you need bring your dreams into reality.
